Privacy Policy — Kontxt Chrome Extension Last updated: March 30, 2026

1. Data We Collect Kontxt does not collect, transmit, or store any user data on external servers. All data — including annotations, skills, and settings — is stored locally in your browser using Chrome’s built-in storage APIs.

2. API Keys If you choose to enable AI suggestions, you provide your own API key (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google Gemini). This key is stored locally in chrome.storage.local and is never transmitted to anyone other than the respective AI provider when you explicitly trigger AI suggestions.

3. Microphone Access Voice recording uses Chrome’s built-in SpeechRecognition API. Audio is processed locally by your browser and sent to Google’s speech recognition service (as part of Chrome’s built-in API). Kontxt does not record, store, or transmit audio data.

4. Page Content When AI suggestions are enabled and you annotate an element, the element’s label, type, and URL are sent to your chosen AI provider to generate suggestions. No other page content is transmitted.

5. Third-Party Services Kontxt communicates only with the AI provider you configure:
   • Anthropic (api.anthropic.com)
   • OpenAI (api.openai.com)
   • Google Gemini (generativelanguage.googleapis.com) These are governed by their respective privacy policies.

6. Data Sharing We do not sell, trade, or share any user data with third parties.
